Meditate for some time
Take some time alone (such as 10
minutes) and meditate. Meet with your inner-self and relax your mind a bit. For
a while, stop thinking anything and just stay there. Then meet your spiritual
self and ask yourself how you would make your life happier. Also, try to think
how you can overcome the issue causing you stress. When you come out of the
meditation, you feel relaxed, with the mind free, and out of some stress.
Take a walk in the nature
Go for a walk alone in the nature
or at the park. Observe the behavior of the nature as you try to get rid of the
stressing thoughts. Walk for 10-30 minutes or even an hour. Also, engage your
mind in some deep thinking, as you think on how to solve the stressor. You will
be able to relax your mind and possible come up with a solution.
Shut off electronics for a while
When you feel stressed in your
house, turn off all your electronics (radio, television, amplifier, computer,
etc.) for a while, like half or one hour. Create a quiet environment in your
house and sit on your sofa. Relax both the mind and body for that time. Try to
overcome whatever stresses you.
Take deep breath
Another way of reducing stress is
breathing deeply. Make sure you take deep breaths whenever you feel stressed.
It helps supply enough oxygen in your blood to help the anti-stress body organs
fight stress. Deep breaths play a vital role in reducing stress.
Listen to sounds of moving waters
When you feel stressed, take a
visit a place with moving waters especially by the riverside or oceans. Deep
your bare feet in the waters as you listen to the sounds the moving waters
produce. They help ‘wash away’ your stress through mind relaxation.
Body exercise
Take simple body exercise to help
your body and mind relax. During the exercise, you don’t have to think about
anything; just play. You can exercise by stretching your body, playing football
or other games, jogging, swimming, skating or other body exercise methods. It
is a good way of reducing stress.
Listen and/or dance to your favorite music
Lock yourself in your room and tune
to your favorite cool music. Listen to it as you sing and dance. Put all your
thoughts inside the music. Relax your mind (though listening and singing) and
body (by dancing). It helps reduce a good part of stress in minutes.
Draw/paint on a coloring book
Sit down with your coloring book
and drawing/painting tools and start drawing just anything. Restrain your mind
from thinking about the things that stresses you for a while and think only
about whatever you are drawing or painting. It is another helpful way of
reducing stress.
Speak your mind
Share what is on your mind with
your friends and/or family. You relieve the stress immediately when you share
the stressor with another person. At the same time, you can get a good solution
if you engage others in solving it.
Remember, the reason why you are not able to solve your problems is
because you are trying to solve it alone!
